El Camino Real Mountain View +1-650-969-9990 +1-650-964-5532 Description: Passage to India has moved to the other side of El Camino, a few blocks north of its old site, and re-opened the old site as a vegetarian restaurant and bakery. This is the newer omnivorous location. There are a number of items on the menu that we'd never seen before, or never seen in the US, and a section of Indian Chinese cooking as well; it's one of the better restaurants around. Dishes were served in separate containers to facilitate sharing. ---- Passage is one of the too-numerous-to-count little Indian restaurants in Mountain View. Mark, Rachel, and I feel that its one of the better ones. Their menu is a bit more varied than many of the other MtV restaurants, and they have neither a commitment to destroying your tastebuds via an exclusively spicy menu, nor a preference for boring you to death by blandness. In short, a well rounded menu. Kabuki was last at Passage to India in October 2004. [Review by RichardT, updated by wcs] Directions: Short: Passage to India is on the southbound (aka west) side of El Camino, about a block south (aka eastbound) of Rengstorff. Long: Take 101 to the Rengstorff Exit in Mountain View. Follow Rengstorff away from the bay till it ends at El Camino Real, turn left, and it's about one block on the right, for somewhat indeterminate values of "one". Public Transit: The restaurant is on the 22 El Camino bus line. It appears to be possible to connect to the 22 from Caltrain.
