I'll be out of town, so I'll do an RSVP for 8 unless lots of people send me mail on Tuesday. The family also owns Fatima Seafood in San Mateo. Several people have also commented on the decorative fish tanks and pond. As might be expected, they have lamb and beef but no pork dishes, and the cuisine is somewhat like milder Hunan, with lots of wheat and onions, plus a number of fish dishes, and apparently shrimp is considered halal. Everybody recommends the onion breads - there are thick and thin, with sesame, and they take 15 minutes so you need to order them right when you arrive. (We had the thin, which is a 1cm-thick pancake. Good stuff!) They have wheat-based hand-cut noodle dishes, tofu, and clay pot dishes. They make about 15 different soups, many with their thick noodles. There's a reasonable selection of vegetarian food. Kabuki-west first went to Fatima in September 2004, and many of us have been to Darda in Milpitas and found it interesting as well. RSVPs are a good idea for larger groups. -- review by wcs Directions: From 101 or 280 - Go to 85 South Take 85 to De Anza Exit North (crossing the freeway.) 1132 S De Anza is 2-3 blocks on the right It's in a small strip mall along with "Monsters of Rock" and a salon.
