This Event: Wed 3/17 Man Bo Duck, Mountain View Upcoming events: Wed 3/17 Man Bo Duck, Mountain View Wed 3/24 Kan Zeman Mediterranean, Palo Alto http://kabuki-west.org/ - Schedules and Restaurant Reviews Time: 7:45 pm Place: Man Bo Duck 360 Castro Street Mountain View, CA 94041 650-961-6635 http://www.themenupage.com/manboduckm.html Description: One of our favorite local restaurants, and a good choice for vegetarians as well. Mike's no-brainer picks are the black mushrooms with tender greens (baby bok choi, yum), the vegetable egg foo yong, the veggie moo shi, the mock duck, and various tofu savories. They will make veggie hot and sour soup, mild, for weird wimps like me-- or nuke it up, for firelovers like my hubby.. Dead critter lovers like me will appreciate the chicken with snow peas, sweet & sour rock cod, broccoli beef, seafood in crisp nest, sweet corn & chicken soup, and similar. Clay pot dishes and Fook Kin fried rice for the more daring; we've been pedestrian so far. Open late (til midnight) most nights. Occasionally a very surreal Slice of Valley Life Theatre after 10pm, but dependable chow. [Review by SRC] The restaurant appears to have entirely no connection to the book "Great Mambo Chicken and the Transhuman Condition" by Ed Regis. Kabuki-West was last at Man Bo Duck in June 2001. Directions: Short: Castro Street, between California and Dana Streets, next to Kim's Vietnamese, roughly across from Sono Sushi. Parking's available in back. Public Transit: The Mountain View CalTrain station is 3-4 blocks walk down Castro. The name of the station is "Mountain View", not "Castro". The light rail now goes to Mountain View-- take the Great America branch (Tasman extension) to the new end of the line at Mt View. Long: Take 101 to Mountain View. Take the Moffet Blvd exit away from the bay to downtown MtV. The restaurant will be three and a half blocks past the Caltrain tracks on the right hand side of the street. If you turn right on California, then right again at the first side street, there are parking lot entrances. The driveway on California is a one-way exit from the lot, so watch out.
