San Antonio Rd. Los Altos 650-948-9865 www.ratical.org/Estrellita Regional specialties from Southern Mexico Description: Estrellita's (Estrellita means "little star" in spanish) is a wonderful mexican restaurant near the corner of san antonio and el camino--it's just past armadillo willy's. It has a multicolored interior with high-backed chairs of all different designs and colors. They have plenty for vegetarians; and plenty for those meat-inclined, too. Their vegetarian burrito is one of the best I've ever had --- savory, flavorful sauteed vegetables, rice, beans, salsa, guacamole, & sour cream. Also, the chips and salsa they serve at the beginning are especially good. The service is very good. The meat eaters at the table really enjoyed their chile rellenos and enchiladas too. It's not that expensive, and there's parking out front. [Review by Jill Pelavin] They always seem to have some new interesting sauces - Bill Kabuki West last went to Estrellita's in October 2003. Directions: Estrellita's is on the southern side of san antonio, on the los altos side by the corner of san antonio and el camino real. From 101: take the San Antonio exit towards los altos. travel about 2 miles. Go through the light at El Camino, you will see Estrellita's on the left. Make your next available U-turn (the first gap in the divider doesn't allow U-turns) and then park. from 280: get off at el monte, going east. at Foothill, make a left and get in the right lane. after about 1/2 mile, make a right on San Antonio. Go about 1 1/2 miles, and Estrellita's will be on your right. If you've reached El camino, you've gone too far. By public transit: the 22 bus goes up and down el camino and stops within one block of the san antonio/el camino intersection.
