This Event: THURS 2/5 Amarin Thai, Mountain View Note that Amarin Thai has been playing musical buildings. This is the NEW Left-Most Amarin Thai. Coming Events: Tues 2/3 Russell's THURS 2/5 Amarin Thai, Mountain View Web page for KW schedules, restaurant reviews, etc: http://www.kabuki-west.org/ Time: 7:45pm Place: Amarin Thai Castro Street, NOT 156 or 160 Mountain View 650-988-9323? http://www.themenupage.com/amarinthaim.html [menu] Description: Amarin's new location is a bit larger and fancier than their older ones, but still has good food. ------- Generally spicier than Cha Am and with a much broader vegetarian menu, Amarin's prices are in line with Castro/MtV restaurants - Generally seven dollar entrees, plus a few dollars for the seemingly endless flow of Iced Coffess some of our number seem to feel are necessary. [review by RichardT] Kabuki last attended Amarin Thai in July 2003, after the move Directions: Short: Amarin is one block down Castro from Central. There are probably only one or two Amarin Thais on this block, depending on how thoroughly they've retired the old sites. The CalTrain lot is a good place to park, or the garage in back. Long: Take your route of choice to Moffett Blvd and 101. Head peninsula west (south) on Moffett until you pass Central and it becomes Castro. Park at the first available opportunity. Transit: Take CalTrain or Light Rail Extension to the "Mountain View" stop. If you are coming up from San Jose on Light Rail, make sure you are on the Tasman line, or change to it from the San Jose line. If you are arriving on CalTrain, note that the "Castro" stop is NOT at Castro Street! You want the "Mountain View" stop instead, unless you feel like a long walk.
