I'm not around this week, and they don't take reservations, but they cope well. Our usual spot is outside in the back under the heaters. This Event: Thurs 6/5 El Paso Cafe, Mountain View Coming Events: Wed 5/28 Truya Sushi, Sunnyvale Tues 6/3 Russell's Thurs 6/5 El Paso Cafe, Mountain View Wed 6/11 Totoro Korean, Mountain View Web page for KW schedules, restaurant reviews, etc: http://kabuki-west.org/ Time: 7:45pm Place: El Paso Cafe 1407 West El Camino Real Mountain View 650/961-8858 Description: The El Paso Cafe is a little Tex-Mex place, with soft tacos, fajitas, burritos, etc. They're a trifle difficult to describe - they have a very pleasant outdoor back patio, their dishes are generally less smothered in sauces than most Mexican restaurants, and their spicing is generally mild. They are also terrifyingly inexpensive - Entrees are between five and seven dollars. Options for vegetarians may be a bit limited. Kabuki was last at the El Paso Cafe in January. [review by richardt] Directions: Short: The restaurant is on the left hand side of El Camino just north of Shoreline Boulevard. El Camino is divided at that point, so you'll need to pass the restaurant and make a u-turn. Parking is only slightly annoying. Public Transit: The cafe is on El Camino, and therefore on the 22 bus line. They are also a ten minute walk from the Mountain View train station at Castro Street. Long: Take 101 to Mountain View, and get off at the Shoreline exit. Head west on shoreline to El Camino. Turn right (North), and get in the left hand lane. You wish to take the next available u-turn. After the turn, proceed one quarter block and park; the restaurant is on your right. [directions by richardt]
