Let me tell you a little about myself: I'm an English as a Second Language teacher in
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I first became
interested in kabuki when I read about it while
studying Drama and English at university. When I
went to Japan to teach ESL, I attended about 30
kabuki performances - mostly at the Kabukiza
Theatre in Tokyo. This was in 1984 and 1985. I've
been back to Japan twice since then and have gone
to see kabuki performances both times. My
favorite kabuki actors included Ichikawa Ennosuke,
Onoe Kikugoro, Bando Tamasaburo and Nakamura
Kanzaburo. I'd be very interested in communicat-
ing with other people who are interested in
kabuki. If you e-mail me, please put "Don
Campbell" as the subject because my e-mail
address is the only one that we have at our
ESL school. Goodbye.

Let me tell you a little about myself:
I am a
artist and am into the web these days,
creating and supporting art related sites
such as Art on the Net
(art.net).
I have been attending Kabuki West dinners since
1990 and have enjoyed many fine dinners and
conversations via these gatherings. Along the way,
I've met some awesome friends from this group as
well. It's been a great experience in my life.
Thanks Russel!

Let me tell you a little about myself: I've been on Kabuki-West from its inception. Russell Brand and I met
through the now-defunct "bandykin" mailing list. Heck, I've been on
the net continuously since 1980 and have amassed enough junk mail to
prove it!
I'm a full-time technical writer by day, and a radio news reporter on
sister stations KLIV and KARA in San Jose on Saturday nights and whenever
else they need me.
I'm also the proud owner of a Bichon Frise named Fuzzball.

Let me tell you a little about myself: I've only been in the Bay Area since Sept. 1995.
I first went to a Kabuki function as a guest of
someone else. I liked it and continued to attend,
albeit infrequently. I'm from the South, and get
teased a lot about my drawl, but I'm used to it,
so go ahead.

I joined the Kabuki-West mail list on Nov.94
Let me tell you a little about myself: I was first enticed to join the list when one of its early members told me she "wanted to see more of me ;> ". Up until I joined she had been relaying messages to me about these strange dinner events that she and her friends attended.
I had visions of the banquet scene in Rocky Horror. :)
I finally signed up so here I am.

Let me tell you a little about myself: I am presently a candidate for city councilperson,
District One, Champaign, Ill. I plan to start a
graduate program at the UofI by this coming fall.
I possess a bachelors degree in education. I am trying to get into to the twentyfirst century with some computer knowledge. I need all the help I can get. Presently, because I am unemployed I spend my time between sewing and making offers on properties. Do you have any properties for sale? I hope to one day own my very own personal computer. I am forced to use the libraries computer system. Blessedly, it is only across the street from my apartment.

Let me tell you a little about myself: I'm a high school theatre student who specializes in set, costume, and lightin design.
During the spring, my school did a psuedo-Kabuki play (The Zen Substitute) for contest
and have great success. This fall, I also plan on rendering my own version of the Shibaraku
costume in hopes of winning a scholarship. If you have any information of Shibaraku,
I would greatly appriciate it if you sent it my way.

Introduced Russell to the original Kabuki Restaurant
in Central Square in Cambridge when we were both MIT
undergrads. Needless to say, he liked the place, and
it became a favorite venue of his, leading to the
original Cambridge Kabuki dinner group (following a
series of lectures by Hofstader at MIT). I had no
idea I was starting a chain of events that would get
WAAAAYYY out of hand when I invited him to join me
there for dinner one summer night in 1982!

Let me tell you a little about myself: I'm really glad Chris Hull got us involved with Kabuki. Jim & I had just moved down here from Oregon, but I'm originally from the San Fernando Valley.
Anyways there is a science fiction club down there (LASFS) which meets every week, and I was really missing having a weekly get-together with people I know.
My interests:- science fiction, including conventions & LASFS gatherings (we'll get them on the 'net soon!)
- Art
- electronic (suitable for webbing)
- paintings (usu. found at conventions)
- buttons!
- Our two cats (Crystal & Kahlua)
I have a huge collection of bookmarks, mostly aimed at web style, graphic archives, or software links. But some of it is kinda of weird and if you want a copy, drop me some e-mail.
I helped Chris originally format the front page so it could be tables and Lynx-clean at the same time. I know, we need to work on them some more. Such is life.
